At the end of January I vowed to do a monthly roundup of some of the things I had done, so that when my brain throws me into the depths of despair due to my lack of writing progress I can point to something tangible explaining why I am not a total failure. Here is the February edition.

I don’t read a huge amount of non-fiction. I think historically this has been due to a deep-seated belief that non-fiction = educational. Happy Hogmanay! Since 2017 is on the way out, it’s time to reflect on the year of covfefe and see whether I kept any of the resolutions I made in my 2016 review…
You know when you read something on the internet that incenses you beyond reason? I’m not talking so much about the times an elected official says something eye-wateringly racist / awful about women’s reproductive rights / climate change denial-y. I’m more thinking of the comments that come from unexpected places. The ones that get under your skin and make you want to shout at people who have ultimately only expressed a personal opinion.
